Beer Label Fundraising Effort

This last summer (2018), Redding and the surrounding areas were devastated by an insanely gnarly fire… in fact, the 8th largest fire in California’s documented history. Feeling so helpless chatting with friends and family who have either lost their homes or are waiting to find out if they still have a home standing, I knew that I not only wanted to do something, but I have to. The phone rang that next Monday morning after the hell weekend and it was John of Fall River Brewing telling me about the talks of a local brewery collab to raise money for the Carr Fire recovery efforts. I was instantly on board.

This collaboration was extremely inspiring seeing local breweries that are technically in competition with each other work together for the greater good. Another thing that floored me and humbled me was our community’s excitement and support for this release and the artwork. This project made me feel a sense of purpose that I’ve never felt in my career. Making such an impact financially AND emotionally with something I design, well, I can’t even tell you how amazing that made me feel. I’m going to cherish that feeling for a very long time.

The beer was so well received that we ended up doing it a second time to raise more funds! Woo!

I later teamed up with the amazing folks at Redding Parks Foundation and Inked Up Graphics to print merch to benefit their efforts to replant and restore Redding’s Westside trail system. I’m hoping we can keep this going and help our community grow back extra fast!

We’re indeed Shasta Strong.

We received quite a bit of press on this release, here’s a local newspaper’s article about the effort.
