People often come to me with the need to either brand or rebrand. There are so many elements that go into branding- from a company’s web presence to their logo- and all are very important.
Logos are the key piece in the branding playbook. As we all know, you only get one first impression: a well-designed logo will not only appeal to its viewers and present your company in a positive light, but will inform the viewer about your company.
When creating a logo, I like to meet with my clients (at their facility if possible) and learn all of the ins and outs of their business. I like to learn their story and their thoughts behind the brand. I then launch a case study in which I explore several ideas that convey this story in one simple mark or logotype. That’s the biggest challenge in logo design: encompassing the feel, objectives, and ideas behind a brand in one simple but clever logo.
